When we think of luxury, we imagine beauty, exclusivity, and unique experiences. But what if luxury could go further, transforming into a true sensory journey that unites stunning architecture, captivating history, and memorable flavors? That is precisely the concept behind the newly opened "The Louis" in Shanghai, conceived by Louis Vuitton and designed by renowned architect Shohei Shigematsu of the international firm OMA.

As you stroll through the bustling streets of Shanghai, it's impossible not to notice a distinctive structure: an imposing ship-shaped building anchored in the heart of HKRI Taikoo Hui Square. This is not just another beautiful building in the urban landscape, but an irresistible invitation to immerse yourself in an experience that celebrates the city's rich maritime history and Louis Vuitton's traveling roots.

At first glance, the silver facade with the traditional LV monogram captures attention, reflecting the light like tranquil sea waters. A stylized anchor with the emblematic logo of the French maison symbolically reinforces Shanghai's historical roots as the "Gateway to the East," establishing an instant connection with visitors.

Inside, the enchantment intensifies. The "Visionary Journeys" exhibition guides each visitor through a carefully planned and emotionally engaging journey. The experience begins with the "Trunkscape," an enchanting tunnel formed by historic Louis Vuitton trunks that appear to float amidst dynamic natural scenery. Each stage reveals a new narrative, offering a unique perspective on the brand's century-long history.

In the "Origins" room, visitors can admire the maison's first trunks and original artisanal techniques, reinterpreted with a contemporary vision. In the "Voyage" space, personal and inspiring stories from the brand's famous clients are shared, highlighting exclusive details of the personalized trunks and evoking imaginations of distant destinations.

The experience extends even further with the room dedicated to fragrances, where rare bottles evoke special memories and sensations, and the space that connects literature and sports, showcasing exclusive items that portray Louis Vuitton's deep relationship with international cultural and sporting events.

For those wishing to take home a special souvenir, the second floor houses an exclusive boutique, with items that can be personalized with iconic details from Shanghai or the ship itself. Complementing this immersive journey, the third floor offers an unforgettable gastronomic experience at Le Café Louis Vuitton. Led by renowned chefs Leonardo Zambrino and Zoe Zhou, the kitchen features exceptional dishes such as traditional LV monogrammed jiaozi and a creative Caesar salad with an oriental citrus dressing.
